Everyone can perceive God within themselves. The awakening of this perception is what the gospel calls resurrection.

1

The petals of flowers fall off when the fruit begins to grow. In the same way will your weaknesses fall away from you when the perception of God begins to grow within you.

Even though the universe has been filled with darkness for eons, it is illuminated the moment it is penetrated by light. And it is the same with your soul: however long it may have been engulfed in darkness, it will light up the instant God opens his eyes within it.

— Ramakrishna

2

Self-respect is the perception of the Deity within your soul. The foundations of self-respect lie in religion. There is no better example of this than the haughtiness of humility. No aristocrat, no prince born to the purple, can begin to compare with the self-respect of the saint. The saint is lowly because, resting on the largeness of God, whom he feels within him, he chooses to be lowly.

— Emerson

3

The one who knows human nature is smart; but the one who knows himself is truly wise.

The one who knows himself perceives God.

— Eastern wisdom

4

God is close to you, he is with you, he is within you. The spirit of God dwells within us, an ever present witness to our good and evil deeds, and the way we treat him is the way he treats us. A human being cannot be good without God.

— Seneca

5

If you are troubled, go deep into yourself, and at a certain depth you will find God; the moment you become aware of him within you, all that is heavy will become light; you will feel love and joy.

If a human being does not feel the power of God within himself, it is not proof that the power of God does not reside in him, but only that he has not yet learned to perceive it.
