Colophon

This book is set in Valkyrie, a contemporary calligraphic typeface designed by Matthew Butterick. The typeface is partly inspired by Hermann Zapf’s Aldus (a book variant of Zapf’s very popular Palatino), which echoes the humanist types of the Italian Renaissance. Headings and interface elements are set in Advocate, also by Butterick. The website is custom built using Jekyll, a static site generator.
