March 27

The more a person believes in God, the less he fears people.

1

Do not lose heart and do not despair if you fall short of achieving all the good that you wish to do.

If you have fallen from your height, try to get up again, try to bear the trials of life with humility, and return readily and consciously to your principles.

— Marcus Aurelius

2

The one who fears people does not fear God. But the one who fears God does not fear people.

3

Honor him whose life is perpetual victory; him who, by sympathy with the invisible and real, finds support in labor, instead of praise; who does not shine, and would rather not. With eyes open, he makes the choice of virtue which outrages the virtuous; of religion which churches stop their discords to burn and exterminate; for the highest virtue is always against the law.

— Emerson

4

To enter human consciousness, every great truth must inevitably pass three stages. The first stage: “It’s so absurd that it’s not worth discussing.” The second stage: “It’s immoral and contrary to religion.” The third stage: “It’s been known for a long time already.”

5

The one who is not afraid of anything and is ready to always give his life for truth is much more powerful than the one who is feared by everybody and who holds people’s lives in his power.

6

Look for the best human being among those who are condemned by the world.

7

Do what you consider to be your duty without expecting to win any fame. Remember that a foolish person is a bad judge of wise deeds.

If you want to save yourself from people’s power, surrender yourself to God’s power. If you recognize yourself to be in God’s power, then people cannot do anything to you.
